These guys are Adelie penguins deciding which of them should take the plunge first. The danger is in the form of a Leopard Seal waiting for an easy snack. This photo is from the Cape Adare region at the mouth of the Ross Sea.

King Penguins form huge colonies on the pebble beaches of Macquarie Island. They can be seen "flying" through the clear water to a great depth. They are very inquisitive and are totally unafraid of humans.
